The options in the screen has been reorganized. I shared about <a href="https://www.androidauthority.com/pixel-camera-expressive-redesign-teardown-3567371/" target="_blank">this design on Android Authority</a> some weeks ago. I installed the Camera app from Pixel 10 on my Pixel 9. While you might think that installing it on older Pixels might bring some of those features from Pixel 10, unfortunately that is not possible here. Installing it on older Pixel will just force close the app. But I managed to take screenshots from the settings screen which I am sharing here.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Here is the first look at Google Pixel's Battery Health Assistant feature

<p>With Google Pixel 9a, Google is bringing a feature called Battery Health Assistant which automatically helps manage the long term health and performance of its battery as it ages. Battery health assistance will also tune the phone’s charging speed based on adjusted capacity. You may notice a slight change in battery charging performance. Battery health assistance settings on Pixel 9a aren’t customizable by the user. (<a href="https://www.androidauthority.com/google-pixel-9a-battery-health-assistance-3540234/" target="_blank">Check here for more info</a>)</p><p>This feature is also supposed to come to other Pixel devices (not all) but it could be optional. With a recent Settings Services app update Google has added the necessary things for the feature and I was able to activate the setting on my Pixel 9. Google is adding more ways to trigger Circle to Search on your Samsung Galaxy, Pixel and other Android devices

<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jh43cZiGplk/Z4-2YS0EaGI/AAAAAAAAtlc/c-DGFhfQZDgujueuHHnRX7L-FaMSZbGfACNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1737471573499.png"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="661" data-original-width="1220" height="216" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jh43cZiGplk/Z4-2YS0EaGI/AAAAAAAAtlc/c-DGFhfQZDgujueuHHnRX7L-FaMSZbGfACNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1737471573499.png" width="400" /></a></div><br /></div>Circle to Search has gained a lot of popularity since it was launched and has been available on millions of Android devices from different smartphone brands. Google has been adding a lot of features lately and doing various UI changes on the Circle to Search interface. Users can currently trigger Circle to Search by long pressing the gesture nav handle or if you use the three button nav, you can long press the home button. <div><br /></div><div>Now it looks like Google is adding more ways to open Circle to Search. With the latest update of Google beta app (version 16.2.39.sa.arm64 beta) I found some code that hints that Google is adding more ways to access your favorite feature (in case you hate it, just deal with it). Just take a look at the screenshot below -</div><div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ObcvFZlNwpI/Z4-2ZA2xOEI/AAAAAAAAtlg/1Lwn-DPBHr4i9Yt6tGvHZrfRWOyFQT-LACNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1737470629345.jpeg"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="1054" data-original-width="1003" height="640" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ObcvFZlNwpI/Z4-2ZA2xOEI/AAAAAAAAtlg/1Lwn-DPBHr4i9Yt6tGvHZrfRWOyFQT-LACNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1737470629345.jpeg" width="609" /></a></div><br /><br />In case you don't know, <b>OMNIENT </b>is codename for Circle To Search feature. The code above hints about more entry points for Circle to Search. </div><div><br /></div><div>We already know about NAV_HANDLE, HOME and FILES_APP (yes, you can trigger Circle to Search in Files by Google app when you open an image in it). The rest of the entry points seems new. I am not sure about what KIKI_APP and META is. Let's talk about the rest though.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>OMNIENT_ENTRYPOINT_LONG_PRESS_OVERVIEW - </b>Overview screen is basically the recents screen which shows all your apps you have opened. So it's possible Google could adding a button in the overview screen which can trigger Circle to Search for the app which is in focus in the recents screen.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>OMNIENT_ENTRYPOINT_LONG_PRESS_POWER -</b> Google can add a new option to trigger CTS by long pressing the power button. I think this will be part of a system update (Android 16 probably). On pixels, currently you can only set power button to trigger assistant on long press or open power menu.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>OMNIENT_ENTRYPOINT_EDGE_PANEL - </b>The Edge panel on a Samsung Galaxy device is a shortcut tab that provides quick access to your favorite apps. So you will be able soon add a shortcut here to trigger Circle to Search.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>OMNIENT_ENTRYPOINT_ACCESSIBILITY_SYSTEM_ACTION -</b> I am not sure if this new of Google already does this. This is for users who use Android accessibility services. It's possible that Google might add a shortcut somewhere in the accessibility menu to trigger Circle to Search.</div><div><br /></div><div>All these changes are a welcome addition and provide more flexibility to customize how they access Circle to Search on their device. I am not sure when all these will changes will be available but we will see soon. </div><div><br /></div><div>You can follow me on <a href="https://x.com/AssembleDebug" target="_blank">X</a>/<a href="https://www.threads.net/@assembledebug" target="_blank">Threads</a>/<a href="https://bsky.app/profile/assembledebug.bsky.social" target="_blank">BlueSky</a> and follow my <a href="https://t.me/GappsLeaks">Telegram channel</a> for more updates.</div>

Google Play Store has been testing a new UI when an user open an app store listing by clicking a Play Store link/URL from other apps. <div><br></div><div>Usually when you open a Play Store listing, you see a full screen page with all the details and all other things. Just like these screenshots here - </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-3P0YRNBxsbU/ZzF9P9oQJLI/AAAAAAAAp-4/coIHhtxMfRExaa05Ss8-O88t4MAcr-65wCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1731295870957.png" imageanchor="1"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2712" data-original-width="1220" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-3P0YRNBxsbU/ZzF9P9oQJLI/AAAAAAAAp-4/coIHhtxMfRExaa05Ss8-O88t4MAcr-65wCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1731295870957.png" width="179"></a></div><br>The upcoming change will show you this page as a bottom sheet and you will have two variants of of it. One which opens the app listing in bottom sheet with all the details and install button and the second one is with an "View Full Details" button which will open the full screen app listing to see all the details of the app. Here are screenshots of both types of bottom sheet - </div><div><br></div><table align="center"> <tbody> <tr><td><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FVN9h_HQucw/ZzF9RTf8dSI/AAAAAAAAp-8/mXCY9G63kGYRzSUFOGNCuaEYvtUPzM5xgCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1731296154746.png" imageanchor="1"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2712" data-original-width="1220" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FVN9h_HQucw/ZzF9RTf8dSI/AAAAAAAAp-8/mXCY9G63kGYRzSUFOGNCuaEYvtUPzM5xgCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1731296154746.png" width="179"></a></td><td><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-dfFWvKM9bKw/ZzF9SuMIZbI/AAAAAAAAp_A/wvQVxTzfXV8oJidNLluNm0U-PpFh8ULDQCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1731296154674.png" imageanchor="1"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2712" data-original-width="1220" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-dfFWvKM9bKw/ZzF9SuMIZbI/AAAAAAAAp_A/wvQVxTzfXV8oJidNLluNm0U-PpFh8ULDQCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1731296154674.png" width="179"></a></td></tr></tbody></table><br>As you can see in above screenshots, the bottom comes with a dismiss (x) icon on top right, pressing it closes the bottom and shows you the home screen. You have to swipe back again to go back to the app from where you opened the app listing. This was not the case with the previous design and you could go back with just a single back gesture. <div><br></div><div>Another thing is that the bottom sheet increases its height after you tap the Install button to show you ads and other recommended apps to install. </div><div><br></div><div>This change isn't live yet and could be available in upcoming versions. I have spotted in the version 43.5.26-31 of Play Store. </div><div><br><div>Follow my <a href="https://t.me/GappsLeaks" title="">telegram channel</a> for such updates, you can also follow me on <a href="https://www.threads.net/@assembledebug" title="">Threads</a>, <a href="https://androiddev.social/@AssembleDebug" title="">Mastodon</a> and <a href="https://x.com/AssembleDebug" title="">X</a> (Twitter). </div> </div>

Sometimes it introduces <a href="https://x.com/AssembleDebug/status/1853461439022760220?t=FHSLSmzCOGqLJjXra4THZQ&s=19" title="">new features</a> and sometimes it's just UI changes. When it comes to UI changes, Google has adapted most of its apps with Material You designs and there are definitely some exceptions like Google Opinion, Google Analytics and some others. <div><br /></div><div>The Google app which comes pre-installed on almost every device still hasn't adapted material you colors, but Google is definitely trying to update it with modern design with just <b>blue</b> accent (just like Play Store). There are various pages inside Google app which has old UI from years ago. The one about which specificity talking here is - The Offline Speech Recognition page. Yes, I know, it's definitely not the most used thing in the app. But here is how it currently looks - </div><div><br /></div> <table align="center"> <tbody> <tr><td><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FcrwEOsO9kA/ZzBdVPB-cyI/AAAAAAAAp-A/Ajq-ENuTkR86v82ZLBq6YQLc27RqbplZgCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1731222832082.png"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2712" data-original-width="1220" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FcrwEOsO9kA/ZzBdVPB-cyI/AAAAAAAAp-A/Ajq-ENuTkR86v82ZLBq6YQLc27RqbplZgCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1731222832082.png" width="179" /></a></td><td> <a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-g9aoMhj9_dM/ZzBdWd7OpJI/AAAAAAAAp-E/BjHTATyFi-AM8jhL4_CwkzsArtck93FZQCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1731222832146.png"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2712" data-original-width="1220" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-g9aoMhj9_dM/ZzBdWd7OpJI/AAAAAAAAp-E/BjHTATyFi-AM8jhL4_CwkzsArtck93FZQCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1731222832146.png" width="179" /></a></td><td><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WZE0YORHeiA/ZzBdW29uuGI/AAAAAAAAp-I/073Qnn06I9YOZPSPJAsZeXEoT4_dMRqsACNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1731222851634.png"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2712" data-original-width="1220" height="400" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WZE0YORHeiA/ZzBdW29uuGI/AAAAAAAAp-I/073Qnn06I9YOZPSPJAsZeXEoT4_dMRqsACNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_ORG_1731222851634.png" width="179" /></a></td> </tr> </tbody></table><div><br /></div><div>Google is updating above section of Offline Speech Recognition with a better UI and which follows Material You Colors. Some days ago I shared through <a href="https://piunikaweb.com/2024/04/20/circle-to-search-copy-share-images/" title="">PiunikaWeb</a> that Google is working on a functionality which will enhance the process of sharing screenshots or sharing a particular part of your screen as Image without going through the cropping process.<br></p><p>If you are a rooted user with a supported device having Circle to Search functionality, you can enable it right away without waiting for Google to roll it out, which Google might do in some weeks or maybe months. A few weeks ago I posted about WhatsApp working on <a href="https://twitter.com/AssembleDebug/status/1772145252415189196?s=19" title="">International UPI payments</a> which would allow users in supported countries to pay through UPI.</p></div><p>The new feature which WhatsApp might be working on is already available on other apps which I have mentioned above. Everyone who uses these apps must have come across the UPI payments through Rupay Credit Card option. These apps allow users to link their rupay credit card which users can use for making UPI payments to businesses through QR codes. This feature is not available for other type of credit cards. </p><p>So in the latest version of WhatsApp beta 2.24.9.14, I have come across a new icon which was added in the mentioned version update. Here is how it looks - </p><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXqZtCeB2te_05qI9c8vsuuGs_9z0rvdBnmP-9S2vLKDq8gc_vv7rWmH_XY0HDYanGZIPSNiZYn755ALGBienKKLVT5IlUonrYGrChVxxVktadQp0VSOB9F2eRgrCo7ibG7bgH2UDUTGo1/s1600/IMG_ORG_1713286763621.jpeg" imageanchor="1"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="1033" data-original-width="1080" height="382" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXqZtCeB2te_05qI9c8vsuuGs_9z0rvdBnmP-9S2vLKDq8gc_vv7rWmH_XY0HDYanGZIPSNiZYn755ALGBienKKLVT5IlUonrYGrChVxxVktadQp0VSOB9F2eRgrCo7ibG7bgH2UDUTGo1/s1600/IMG_ORG_1713286763621.jpeg" width="400"></a></div><br><p>Well, this is just a logo, but such logos aren't added by mistake :p There are some strings related to adding rupay credit cards -</p></div><blockquote>• You need to have a bank account added as a payment method before you can set up your Rupay credit card.<br>• RuPay credit cards can be used to pay businesses. Add a bank account to receive or send money to friends and family. <a href="%s">Learn more</a>.</blockquote><p>So both things indicates that this it is definitely in works, but I can't really say when this will be available. WhatsApp has been trying to tap into the payment market through its large Indian userbase but doesn't seem to reach the popularity of apps like PhonePe, Paytm and Gpay. It is yet to see if such new features will make any difference.</p>

Google has completely redesigned the chat screen UI and the bottom bar which hosts all the stuff like input box, attachment, emoji buttons etc. Along with all these changes one change which Google brought was the input box redesign. I don't want to say much just look at the screenshot below how it currently looks. </p> <table align="center"> <tbody> <tr><td> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisBnpTpzMmOaGiH0dZYLafRcuZvEYQW0WgQG26BoTY_xouSN2_v9pTfWqyZfqtD0m1k0MPGLfod-njWKUO963GADWgBDaTQWLpsossZMWNyntVLVX7HCgNnWlIqnECQAydG_oG1dBNaHrw/s1600/IMG_ORG_1712595774333.png" imageanchor="1"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2400" data-original-width="1080" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisBnpTpzMmOaGiH0dZYLafRcuZvEYQW0WgQG26BoTY_xouSN2_v9pTfWqyZfqtD0m1k0MPGLfod-njWKUO963GADWgBDaTQWLpsossZMWNyntVLVX7HCgNnWlIqnECQAydG_oG1dBNaHrw/s1600/IMG_ORG_1712595774333.png" width="180"></a></td><td> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5Anlvz84Ac7I-a3HXhJxHCbjdD_m6XgrPUczoubQEx6t5csTc4QxUixAQBOU5wp3AIZ6xRZmT62tmfHsuPU56jg2fR0dQceQ6dPQgtjokFCQyvfXSN2nHL0haqUZmQxQa4GQ5hNt7pEd4/s1600/IMG_ORG_1712595774223.png" imageanchor="1"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2400" data-original-width="1080" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5Anlvz84Ac7I-a3HXhJxHCbjdD_m6XgrPUczoubQEx6t5csTc4QxUixAQBOU5wp3AIZ6xRZmT62tmfHsuPU56jg2fR0dQceQ6dPQgtjokFCQyvfXSN2nHL0haqUZmQxQa4GQ5hNt7pEd4/s1600/IMG_ORG_1712595774223.png" width="180"></a></td> </tr> </tbody></table> <p>As you can see in the above screenshots, the input box was just above the attachment and emoji buttons and many people disliked it (as far as I know it). Just after that, in March I <a href="https://thespandroid.blogspot.com/2024/03/Password-Sharing-Android-GMS.html" title="">spotted</a> the initial share button and a pop-up introducing the password sharing feature. More work has been done since and seems like it will be coming to everyone in just a few weeks.</p><p>In the latest version of Google Play Services beta 24.13.14, the changes hint toward a more complete feature, here is a video of how it will work. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gUtLpN14EuI" width="320" youtube-src-id="gUtLpN14EuI"></iframe></div><p>As you can see in the video, the tapping a share button of a saved credential will open a share sheet with the family memeber names and their profile pictures. You can select one or multiple members with whom you want to share password and then tap the share button. </p><p>Tapping the share button doesn't seem to do anything in the video, so it's possible that there is some work left to do. One more important to note here is (as you can see in the video) - <i>When you share a copy of your username and password, your family member can fill them using Google Password Manager. </i>This means the username/email/password will be shared directly in their own Google Password Manager and can be auto-filled through the Android's auto-fill feature.</p><p>If case if you have noticed one more thing - the redesigned password manager UI. It has been in developement since <a href="https://t.me/google_nws/3729?single" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">some months</a> and now appears to be fully ready. So it's possible it could also be rolled out in some weeks but nothing is certain.</p> <p>For more such Google apps feature leaks you can join my telegram channel - <a href="https://t.me/GappsLeaks" title="">Gapps Flags & Leaks</a> or follow me on <a href="https://x.com/AssembleDebug" title="">Twitter/X</a></p>

WhatsApp is working on adding support for audio files in Channels

Back in January, WhatsApp added the ability to share voice notes and create polls in channels. </p><p>The voice note sharing functionality might be a limited experience for some people who want to share music with followers. Telegram allows almost all kinds of content to be posted in the channels. In case of WhatsApp, at least they may allow users to share music files such as MP3 files in channels. </p><p>I was able to activate the audio file sharing functionality in channels. This works in the same way as sending audio files in personal chats and groups. Here are some screenshots - </p><table align="center"> <tbody> <tr><td><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGlmRewqhOc1lTf0BHoLzSBr7JxD7KuHjsqFiim5Me3ZfzYKHSHkpvNOJvQVYwloIxeEIHDVSopzPcL-09NkgCP06pWeeEmjeu9emKWwpGa6DDIJJOFgPYFXiMfiY0EynC7XEepl1tXogc/s1600/IMG_ORG_1712055779783.png" imageanchor="1"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2160" data-original-width="1215" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGlmRewqhOc1lTf0BHoLzSBr7JxD7KuHjsqFiim5Me3ZfzYKHSHkpvNOJvQVYwloIxeEIHDVSopzPcL-09NkgCP06pWeeEmjeu9emKWwpGa6DDIJJOFgPYFXiMfiY0EynC7XEepl1tXogc/s1600/IMG_ORG_1712055779783.png" width="225"></a></td><td><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGwnloqgzjjV-qO7jFms2x-ktiOD_vRKt962zgvcY6JMavAA6FxEgC_n5LMG-jYm24_P4jCQd0kOSKSk8pnHSEI3cv01da-lSXcNdy4xoJTp7N5gLzg9C34rPlQK-CsEwgA8W-gnNr4w8v/s1600/IMG_ORG_1712055789797.png" imageanchor="1"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2160" data-original-width="1215" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGwnloqgzjjV-qO7jFms2x-ktiOD_vRKt962zgvcY6JMavAA6FxEgC_n5LMG-jYm24_P4jCQd0kOSKSk8pnHSEI3cv01da-lSXcNdy4xoJTp7N5gLzg9C34rPlQK-CsEwgA8W-gnNr4w8v/s1600/IMG_ORG_1712055789797.png" width="225"></a></td><td><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihHEB8rFsmZCcC4PjPzh2Z8l58AVdrwsxW0OZj8lESIHXDHkGuTUv6FJEJngYHubKceQen9R8OHmngz9azUmtA5j4shsoRr0SwVsykmrFB7nHJxahWBljC9090vfMp053jn3Byfp_BbKST/s1600/IMG_ORG_1712055798794.png" imageanchor="1"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2160" data-original-width="1215" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihHEB8rFsmZCcC4PjPzh2Z8l58AVdrwsxW0OZj8lESIHXDHkGuTUv6FJEJngYHubKceQen9R8OHmngz9azUmtA5j4shsoRr0SwVsykmrFB7nHJxahWBljC9090vfMp053jn3Byfp_BbKST/s1600/IMG_ORG_1712055798794.png" width="225"></a></td> </tr> </tbody></table> <p>As you can above, the first screenshot is from the current UI of the attachment screen in channel, it doesn't have the "audio" option. The second screenshot shows the "audio" option which I enabled using some methods(secret :p & it's not a WhatsApp mod). The third screenshot shows the audio file which I sent in a WhatsApp channel using the "audio" attachment option. I want to mention one thing here is that - audio files shared in channel have the headphone 🎧 icon whereas the voice notes have the microphone 🎤 icon.</p><p>I am not sure when WhatsApp will roll-out this feature for channels. This would be a great way to share music and might even help in increasing piracy of audio music (but you know we can report channels :p)</p> <p>Well, that's all about it.
