The upcoming Google Pixel devices will have lot of AI. A lot this AI depends on Gemini and there are a lot of things that Gemini Advance users get access to.
To let new enjoy these AI features in Google Pixel devices, Google could be giving away a year of Gemini Advance access to new Pixel 9 series users. While doing an APK teardown, I came across some strings which hinted at these new perks.
Here are some strings from the Google App beta version - 15.28.37.29.
<string name="assistant_zero_state_google_one_p9_eft_upsell_body">Your Pixel Pro gives you access to a 1-year subscription to Gemini Advanced, our most capable AI model with priority access to new features, at no cost to you.</string>
In above string p9 is hint for Pixel 9. It also mentions "Pixel Pro" which is another hint at upcoming devices likely Pixel 9 Pro, indirectly.
The string clearly says the Pixel Pro gives you access to 1-year subscription to Gemini Advanced. The mention of Pixel Pro might also means that the 1-year advanced access could be limited to Pixel Pro models only.
Other than above string there was another string which hints at 6-month access to Gemini Advanced.
<string name="assistant_zero_state_google_one_p9_short_eft_upsell_body">Your Pixel may give you access to a 6-month subscription to Gemini Advanced, our most capable AI model with priority access to new features, at no cost to you.</string>
Above strings have the word p9_short and Pixel (not Pixel Pro) which hints that this perk could be for the base Pixel device, likely Pixel 9.
I am not particularly sure which if the 1 year Gemini Advance access will be available for the base Pixel if we go by the strings, but rest assured the other Pixel 9 models will be getting this.
