Initially we got hint of the feature from the strings found in the app, but now I have an exclusive looks at how it is going to work. I managed to enable it my Gmail (Android) and it is working as expected. Also got a video for you all to see it in action.<br></p>
<h3><span style="text-align: inherit;">How it works - </span></h3>
<p>When rolled out to users, you will see a smiley 🙂 icon to the right of the email (just before the three dot menu). Clicking on it will show you onboarding tooltip with the text - <b>Respond quickly and add personality</b> - <i>Gmail users see your reaction in the original message. Others will receive it as a reply email</i>. You will see an emoji reaction bar, just like Google Messages, just below the tooltip.</p>

There are 3 places from where you can react on an email - the emoji button just before the 3 dot menu, the "<b>Add reaction</b>" option in the 3 dot menu itself and there is a emoji button on the right side of reply, reply all and forward button in bottom on the email screen. Also it may be possible to react just by tapping the emojis if someone already reacted on the email.</span></p><table align="center">

<p>When you react on an email through Gmail on Android (or iOS), if the other person also uses Gmail on Android/iOS, he/she will see the reactions on the bottom of the email. But if the  other person doesn't use official Gmail app, he/she will see the reaction as a separate email with - " (emoji) (name) reacted via Gmail on (date)", e.g. 🔥 assembleDebug reacted via Gmail on 29 September 10:00am". There is no idea about the emoji support on the Web version of Gmail but I am sure it will soon because Google doesn't want their user's web version Gmail spammed with separate emails of emoji reactions.</p><p>There are some limitations which we previously reported when we found out about this feature. Here a they -<br>• If you receive email via BCC, you can't react with an emoji.<br>• You can't react with an emoji to an encrypted message.<br>• You can't react with an emoji to a large group such as emails sent to a large number of people by companies <br>• You can't react with an emoji more than (number) times.<br>• You cannot add more than 20 emoji reactions to a message.<br>• There can be only 50 unique reactions to an email.</p>

The latest beta GMS update gives us a glimpse of the setup process and I was able to take some screenshots and video of it. This is still work in progress and have random information such as devices and emails on the setup screen. <br /></p><h3>Some info about it - </h3><p>"Link your devices" feature will allow you to connect your multiple devices with the same Google account. For this, Google is using "Device Groups" thing in which you can invite your own device to be added in group. After inviting and accepting the invitation, you will be able to use features such as call transfer and sharing your internet connection to the device which is offline. </p><h3>What's new - </h3><p>Most of the changes are related to UI. You will be able to add your existing device and invite other devices from the Google Play Services by going into Settings > Google > Devices and Sharing > Link your devices. You need to be signed in on other devices with the same Google account.</p><div><br /></div>

<br /><h4>Here are key points from the setup screen - </h4><p><b>1. </b> <b>See ongoing video calls on other devices and seamlessly move them here - </b>Initially this thing was not in the feature list when we spotted this feature but Google added it on this setup screen. It is clear from the description that you will be able to switch your video calls from one device to other or move them on your device which you are currently using. For example you receive a video call from your relative on your Android phone but you want a bigger screen for the video call, so you can just transfer that video call to your tablet which is in your device group and continue video calling on the tablet. </p><p><b>2. Share internet access while your other devices are offline </b>- It's all about sharing your internet connection to your other device which is offline. Kind of same thing as hotspot sharing but you don't have to go through the hassle of setup hotspot. I don't know if it will use the hotspot thing or the Bluetooth internet for this. We will see when it's ready. </p><p><b>3. Be the first to get cross-device services when they are released - </b> Google have this <a href="https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/cross-device-sdk/overview" title="">cross-device SDK</a> which allows app developers to provide multi-device experience in their apps. Google itself uses this SDK to provide features through Google Play Services. The best example of this feature is Google's <b>Cross-Device services </b>app which allow you to use your Android apps on Chromebook, reply to messages, check status of a rideshare and some other things.</p><div><br /></div>

This is possible with the latest update to the play-services-games-v2 library. Developer can integrate it in their game clients using Java SDK and Unity SDK. Google Play Services is also updated by Google to support this feature and mentioned in their <a href="https://developers.google.com/android/guides/releases" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">GMS changelog.</a><div><br /></div><div>If you have ever installed Google Play Games from Play Store, you may be aware that it lets you create a profile and you can use that profile to sign in into your games. This profile is unique and have a username and connected to your Google account. The whole point of this thing is to make it easier to sign into game and track your progress. </div><div><br /></div><div>But consider a scenario, like you have an account in PubG and you created that account using your email and password. Also you have a Google Games profile with a username but that's not connected to your game login credentials in any way. You have to enter your email and password every time you install that game or install it on your other devices such as your tablet or chromebook. With Recall API, Google is eliminating the need of entering email and passwords every time you do this thing.  </div><div><br /></div><div>With Recall API, the game can link your game server credentials (email and passwords) to your Google games profile. By doing that, the game can directly request your Google games profile username and check if the username is linked to any game server credentials (email and password). If it find any linked profile to game server credentials, you will be logged in directly without entering email and passwords. </div><div><br /></div><div>There are various other things related to it such as Cardinality rules and encryption, you can read about all of them <a href="https://developer.android.com/games/pgs/recall" title="">here</a>. How to disable ads in Google Play Store [Root]

But, ads are ads and nobody likes them once you notice them. Its not just Play Store, they are everywhere. For desktop browsers, ublock origin is the antidote but for Google Play Store there is nothing. You just can't disable them. Not even with DNS based adblockers such as Adguard. They works fine upto a certain level in mobile browsers depending on which adblocker you use or which method you are use.
</p><p>If you have rooted Android, you can block ads in Google Play Store without depending on any adblocker. I actually stumbled upon this thing accidentally and I have shared this method in <a href="https://t.me/GappsLeaks/5" title="">my telegram channel</a> and Twitter (post deleted though). Since not everyone uses Twitter/telegram, so wanted to share the method on blog. </p><p>I am going to share the method first, then I will try to explain a little bit about how it works because it's not your usual adblocker.</p><h3>How to block ads? </h3><p>A rooted Android device is the first requirement. The two guys who say things like <i>"who roots their phone nowadays" </i>should notice what's possible with root, it's not about custom ROMs always. Anyways, the second thing you need is <a href="https://thespandroid.blogspot.com/2023/09/what-is-GappsMod-app-and-how-to-use-it.html" title="">GappsMod app</a>, read about it in detail if you are hearing it for first time. </p><div><br></div><div><b>Steps -</b></div><div><ol><li>Download this specific GappsMod version (<a href="https://github.com/assembleDebug/GAppsMod/releases/tag/Release" title="">GitHub</a> or <a href="https://t.me/GAppsMod/1535" title="">Telegram</a>) and Install. You need a specific version for this because the one provided on official GappsMod github repo will not work. (You can try lol). The specific version is built by the GappsMod dev himself and provided in his telegram channel, you can compare signatures if you don't trust me. </li><li>Open GappsMod app, open the sidebar drawer and tap on <b>Boolean mods</b>, then search for the following package - <blockquote>com.google.android.finsky.regular</blockquote></li><li>Now search for the following flag and turn it on - <blockquote>RetailMode__is_force_enabled</blockquote></li><li>Now open Play Store and Force stop it once and open, you will see the old UI. Wait for 2 minutes and force stop it again, now you will see the new UI. If you don't see it, just wait a few minutes and force stop & open.</li><li>Now go back to GappsMod app and <b>turn off </b>the flag which we enabled in step 3.</li><li>Now repeat the same thing we did in step 4 and you will see no ads this time.</li></ol><p>In my testing it showed ads at one place, but that's better than seeing ads everywhere. Also remember that this method is not permanent and once you clear data of Play Store, you have to do everything again. </p></div><h3>How it works</h3><p>If you ever visited a phone store you may have seen the phones attached to a cable and the phone is in demo mode. This is retail thing. When phones are placed for users to interact with them and experience it, they are in retail mode or demo mode. It means that some features are limited. Google added this <a href="https://source.android.com/docs/core/display/retail-mode" title="">Retail demo mode</a> in Android with Android 7.1.1.</p><p>As stated in demo mode page - "<i>Devices are set up for retail demo using a device owner app to ensure that device usage is restricted to certain demo mode apps only. End users must not be able to add a personal account on a retail demo device". </i>It just means functionality is limited when phone is in demo mode. Google Play Store has this demo mode support and we are using this loophole to disable ads because <b>Play Store does not show ads in demo mode</b>.</p><p>With the above flag which I said to turn on, we are just forcing the demo mode in Play Store. So the actual loophole is - when we turn off the flag, Play Store should reset everything back to normal, but it doesn't. It doesn't revert the things related to ads.    <p>I keep a close eye on the Play Store updates with each version. Although Google Play Store app is heavily encrypted and sometimes it makes finding things difficult but I manage to find features because they add and remove feature flags in each update. I shared about some of these features on Twitter and my telegram channel, so if you haven't saw them before then keep reading. :p Also this blog is not a professional website and I am not a native English speaker. So please excuse my grammer mistake and quality of posts. </p>

<h3>1. Google Play Store Cubes</h3>
<p>I am tracking this feature since I first spotted in January 2023 and Google is still working on it. Google has kept this feature a complete secret (Just like Shorts in Play Store, I had seen some flags about Shorts but couldn't figure it out) and they are adding only minor bits of code with each in Public Release version. <p>Apparently in next few updates the skeleton UI was not accessible but it was there and is still there. It was either the home page for Cubes feature or a part of it. </p>
<p>After few updates Google added a widget for the cubes and a icon as well and it currently looks like this -

   <h4><b>So what is "Cubes" actually </b></h4>
<p>After following it for months, I can assume that it is going to be a central hub for discovering new apps and games from various categories such as food, social, watch (videos I guess), listen (music), games, shopping and all apps (MRU). Each category will show recommended apps and content from each of these categories. The icons of these categories are visible in the widget above and the code (actually they are flags) is- </p>

<p>Also the code indicated that "Cube" could be a new tab in the navigation and it will show up in the account switcher and once it's rolls out, you will go through a onboarding process. Also the cubes will have a preference screen where there may be some settings related to this feature. (Fun fact - the account switcher is called Google One menu, and is controlled by a library which is part of almost all Google apps).</p>

<p>There was a base64 string in the <i style="font-weight: bold;">AppContentServiceContentFetcherSettings_client_integration_config </i>which is related to cubes and after decoding it I found package name of Video and Streaming apps (15+ apps). I think the content in "Watch" category will appear from these apps. </p>
<p>All these are speculations because there are no other strings which can clearly explain about "cubes". </p>

<h3>2. Download Buddy </h3>
<p>Download Buddy is just a codename for the installation progress bubble feature. I initially spotted this feature maybe 6+ months ago and it is still a work in progress. Since then Google has updated the UI a little bit and made it compatible with for accessibility users. </p>
<p>When this feature is on, a movable floating arrow on the side of the screen after you tap on the "install" button for any game or app. When you open this floating bubble, it will show the downloading progress of apps. You can keep using Play Store and when the install is finished you can open it directly from the floating bubble. You don't have to go to home screen or app listing page again. Bubble can be dismissed and it can show maximum 10 apps. <h3>3. Form Factor Chips</h3>
<p>Well, this is not the name of the feature. Form factor means phones, watch, tablets, Chromebook or other Android based devices. Google have a "sync app to devices" feature which let you install apps on other devices from your phone. This form factor chips thing is an addition to existing sync feature. </p>
<p>Suppose you want to install an app on your WearOS smartwatch (if the app is compatible for watch) but want to see the screenshots and ratings of the app which are specific to watch. You can check ratings and screenshots from the phone directly without opening Play Store on your watch. <h3>4. Navigation Bar in Detail Page</h3>
<p>I shared this feature first in <a href="https://t.me/GappsLeaks/32" title="">my telegram channel</a> and now is in beta testing for many people. By default the app details page in Play Store doesn't show the navigation tab bar but Google is enabling the tab bars on details page now. This is for details page only and it will not be available in manage apps section or the search results page. <h3>5. Open App Reminders</h3>
<p>Sometimes there are apps which we use rarely but keep them installed so we can just use them whenever needed. There are apps which we install and forget that we have them installed in the long list of apps in our launcher drawer. </p>
<p>Now Google Play Store will remind that you have certain app installed which you haven't opened in x days. I spotted this feature in recent version of Play Store and can be enabled with flags only for now. There are certain days limits set by Play Store. Like you haven't opened an app in 4 days, it will show you a notification. If you ignore that notification, it will show notification again in 5 or 6 days. It can remind you only two times. </p>
<div>The feature is currently in work but I managed to enable the notification channel from which notifications will be sent and you can turn off the reminders by turning off the notification channel. <p>Google is working on the redesign of various pages of Play Store and making the Play Store looks better on tablets and foldables. The term "Univision" is being used in the flags for such UI changes. It seems like Google is doing a refactor of Play Store using modern dev things like compose/kotlin. On tablet/foldables, Google is testing smaller cards on homescreen of Play Store. Left screenshot is the old UI which has bigger cards and consumes too much space and shows less content. Right screenshot is the current version which Google is testing. Digilocker integration in Google Files will allow users to store their Aadhar, PAN, COVID certificates and Driving license directly in Google Files app. <div><br></div><div>Currently, the Indian Government provides "Digilocker" on Play Store and can be used to retrieve above documents as well as other 100+ types of other various government documents/certificates. Indian Government is providing API access for digilocker and as a result Samsung Wallet became one of the third party app to support Digilocker integration and now Google Files is going to be the second one. </div><div><br></div><div>I showed off the feature in action earlier on my <a href="https://t.me/GappsLeaks/136" title="">telegram channel</a> and how it works. But previously it was under work and hidden behind an unexposed flag which means that even users with root wasn't able to flip the switch with GappsMod. But with Google Files version <i>1.1232.565110651.1-release, </i>the flag is now exposed which means this feature may go under beta testing first or Google may roll out to everyone in batches.</div><div><br></div><h3>How it works</h3><div>The Digilocker integration will appear under the "<b>Documents</b>" tab. The document tab is the place for storing your documents such as ID, passports, passes and certificates. The main categories are ID Cards, Travel and Health. Digilocker will have its own category/tab named "<b>Verified</b>". The Documents fetched from the official servers will have a purple checkmark on them which means they are verified and will have a "Verified" tag/category under details of that document. In addition to this you will be able to manually add the verified documents. Take driving license for an example, you just have to put you driving licence number and if it matches the linked aadhar/mobile number, it will be added. You can only store one verified document of each type because the a single digilocker account is connected to only person/mobile/aadhar number. </div><div><br></div><div>For the first time users, you will see a "<b>Connect to Digilocker</b>" banner under in "Verified" tab. Tapping on "Connect to Digilocker" will open the official digilocker website where you have to login with either your phone number or using aadhar card details. An OTP verification will be done. After OTP verification you will see a page where you have to grant permission to Google Files to let it access your documents. </div><div><br></div><div>Once you grant permission, it will fetch your Aadhar, PAN, COVID certificates and Driver licence (if you have them all connected to your mobile number/Aadhar Card). Since I don't have a driving license, my other documents were fetched successfully except that one. When you tap on a fetched verified document, you will see the exact document which you see in the official Digilocker app. You will be able to share it as well and it generates a PDF of the document to share </div><div><br></div><div>There is also a "Logout from Digilocker" button which will log you out from the Digilocker website and you have to login again in order to refresh or add new verified documents. Talking about the <b>refresh</b> option, it's under the 3 dots menu for each verified document. So you can fetch any new copy of the document if you have made changes in the document through official means such as changing name or any other personal identifiable information.</div><div><br></div><div>People who used the <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digilocker.android" title="">official Digilocker</a> app know that it stores various other document other than the ones I mentioned above. In this case the Digilocker capability in Google Files is limited because it will only fetch the document I mentioned above not all of them such as your marksheets from schools or colleges. Well that's what I have seen and this thing may or may not change in future. </div><div><br></div><h3>The annoying part!</h3><div>So I have been testing the feature since some hours and the only annoying thing was that - the login expires after some time and when it expires, you can not access your verified documents. You have to login again on Digilocker website and grant access again. I hope this is just a bug and hoping it to be fixed. There is no such login expire issues with the official Digilocker app and I am not sure about Samsung Wallets behaviour regrading this thing.</div><div><br></div><h3>Roll-out or beta test ? </h3><div>I am not sure about this. Considering the thing is fully working as expected, Google can roll out in batches or beta test it because changelogs from the official listing of Google Files hints that "Important" tab is under beta testing for users in India.</div><div><br></div><h3>Enable Digilocker if you have root</h3><div>We have to use GappsMod app for this. I have written a detailed guide about GappsModFlags which you can <a href="https://thespandroid.blogspot.com/2023/09/what-is-GappsMod-app-and-how-to-use-it.html" title="">read here</a> if you didn't knew about GappsMod app before. With the latest beta version of Google Messages, Google is working on adding this functionality.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Currently there is no way to read/send your RCS chats/messages on your other phone. But there is a workaround which involves using Google Messages in your phone browser and turn on desktop website option to pair using QR code. In Google message I found some strings such as -<br></div><blockquote>Use your phone number to send and receive messages on devices signed into your Google account.</blockquote><blockquote>Message from your phone number on your other devices</blockquote>There are two things needed here for it to work - your phone number and other devices with the same Google account. Google previously didn't allow using the same phone number on two devices with Google messages and it is great to see them bringing this functionality and bring a true multi device experience. This may be useful on the Pixel Tablet which have Google message app but relies on Google Web version for checking your messages (The usual QR code pairing process).<div><br></div><div>Currently the feature may be in work because I don't have other device to test and there is no flag for this thing which I can turn on. So people can try the message version <b style="font-style: italic;">messages.android_20230907_01_RC00.phone.openbeta_dynamic </b>and check if it works. I managed to enable the new partner sharing shortcut feature and found some strings which indicate that an auto archiving and a reminder creation feature is in the works. These changes are added gradually in last the last four or five updates of Google Photos and went totally unnoticed. Work on some features is still going on and there is no guarantee that all of them will see public release because anything can happen at Google.</p>
<h3>1. Partner Sharing Shortcuts</h3><p>The partner sharing shortcut feature can make it easier for you to add your partner in new and current albums and save you a few clicks. The current partner sharing feature is completely different and has nothing to do with partner shortcuts.<br /></p>
Whenever you create a new album, Google Photo gives you an option to "Share" and choose people with whom you want to share the album. The current functionality of adding a person or partner includes tapping on "Share", then selecting the partner name from "Invite to album" and pressing the "Send" button.<p></p>
<p>With partner sharing shortcuts, you can directly add your partner with a single tap when creating new albums and also in existing albums. Google Photos will show you a chip with your partner's name besides the usual "Share" option and tapping on the name will automatically send the album invitation to your partner.</p>

<p>This feature is limited to only showing your partner name, adding more people in sharing shortcuts isn't supported. You have to go through the usual process of inviting people if you want to share your album. Personally, this is a nice addition in Google Photos if it ever rolls out. </p><h3>Google One Exclusive Features </h3><p>The other two features - auto archiving albums and setting reminders may be Google One exclusives as the string in the Google Photos indicates -</p><blockquote>As a Google One member, you can unlock reminders, auto-archive, and more</blockquote>
<h3>2. Auto Archiving Albums</h3><p>This feature will allow you to auto archive albums after a period of 30 days. The strings I found about auto-archiving are - </p><blockquote>photos_search_functional_album_auto_archive_label</blockquote>The value of above string is <blockquote>Archive after 30 day</blockquote>There are more <blockquote>AUTO_ARCHIVE_TOGGLE</blockquote><blockquote>FUNCTIONAL_ALBUM_AUTO_ARCHIVE_TOOLTIP</blockquote><p>If Google rolls out this feature you will find the toggle for it in the album options. </p>
<h3>3. Reminders or Event creation!!!</h3><p>Yes, one more app to create reminders. The strings hints that you can create a reminder, set time & date, set title and change the duration of reminder (like all day or a particular time).</p><blockquote>photos_search_functional_reminders_creation_default_title_text</blockquote><p>Value of above string is -</p><blockquote>Reminder from Google Photos</blockquote><p>There are other strings which just refer to setting time, title and duration. An interesting one is -</p><blockquote>The Google Photos app needs access to your calendar to let you create calendar events, like setting reminders. On the following screen, change your calendar permissions from Don’t Allow to Allow.</blockquote><p>This is kinda interesting because currently Google photos does not have calendar permission and may be added in future updates of Google Photos if they don't kill the feature even before it comes out. </p><p>While I am not sure about how reminders are going to work in Google Photos, but suppose a picture of wedding card in Google Photos that have a future date mentioned on it, then Google Photos may show you an option/chip to create a reminder from it. These flags are controlled by Google and they can enable and disable them using their servers for specific Google apps and specific features.</p><div></div><div><p>Some flags are plain text and sometimes they are just numbers. Plain text flags can be easily read and we can guess what they do, but when it comes to flags which are numbers, they are kind of encrypted flags and only Google knows which flag is doing which thing.</p></div><div></div><div><p>An average user have no control over these switches which Google likes to flip often, but if you have a rooted Android phone, you can easily do it with GappsMod app.</p></div><div></div><h3>What's is GappsMod ?</h3><div><p>GappsMod (formerly GoogleDialerMod) is an app built by <a href="https://github.com/jacopotediosi" title="">Jacopo Tediosi</a> which allows you to switch flags present in the GMS phenotype database. It is an Open source app and is available to download on <a href="https://github.com/jacopotediosi/GAppsMod" title="">GitHub</a>. Its a well built app with Material You design and an annoying minor bug (will explain later in article) In addition to flipping flag switches in GMS, you can also flip switches of Google Play Store which has its own separate phenotype database.</p></div><div></div><div><p>GappsMod also have some prebuilt options to enable certain in Google Messages and Google Dialer. Depending on which version of these apps you use, they can work completely fine or they just don't because Google often changes, adds and remove flags.</p></div><h3>Features of GappsMod</h3><div><ul><li>Enable and Disable flags.</li><li>Search and filter flags. Enabled/Disabled/Changed/Unchanged</li><li>Suggested mods (enabling some features in Google Message and Phone)</li><li>Enabled/Changed flags are highlighted </li><li>Revert Flags by package name or revert everything.</li></ul></div><div></div><h3>Things to know before using GappsMod</h3><div><p>The first and most important thing is that you need a rooted phone. It's not possible without it (not with shizuku or adb as well). There are some other things you should know if it's your first time using GappsMod</p></div><div><ul><li>Package Name - Each Google app have a particular package name and there can be multiple package names in each app. Sometimes it is same as the app package name itself like com.google.android.dialer and sometimes it's like com.google.android.dialer#com.google.android.dialer. GappsMod displays app icons before package name, so it's easy to recognise which package name belongs to which Google app.</li><li>Flags - Each package name have their own set of flags. Some flags are enabled by Google already and some are disabled. Sometimes a feature can work by enabling a certain flag but also can require enabling multiple flags for a feature depending on how Google is doing it.</li></ul></div><h3>How to use GappsMod </h3><div><p>Using GappsMod is simple as it can be. You have to choose package name first and it will list all flags associated with that package name. The difficult thing is - if you are looking flag for a particular feature in a particular app, then you have to go through all the flag or search a term similar to the feature. You may find what you need or you won't because Google does not keep every feature behind flags. Once the new emails are cached or fetched from servers, you can press "Select all" to select 50 more emails.</div><div><br /></div><div>But when it comes to unselecting, it will unselect all emails. Like you selected 150 emails, and once you chose "Deselect all", it will unselect all 150 emails not 50. And if you tap "Select all" again after unselecting, it will select all 150 emails not 50. I know it sounds confusing, better look at the video I attached in the article.</div><div><br /></div><div>Now the final point is - when will it roll out. Microsoft outlook already have this feature and Gmail is also next one in line to add support for them.</div><div><br></div><div>A few days ago Steve Moser from the <a href="https://www.thetapedrive.com/p/google-working-on-emoji-reactions" title="" target="_blank">TheTapeDrive found</a> that Google is adding emoji reaction to Gmail on its iOS app. Now after I looked into the latest Gmail APK for Android, it turns out that Google is adding it on as Android as well. So they are probably coming to both iOS and Android at the same time. </div><div><br></div><div>A few string in Gmail APK which I found are </div><div><ul><li>Add emoji reactions</li><li>Coming soon: Emoji reactions</li><li>You're among the first Gmail users to get an emoji reaction. Soon you'll be able to send emoji reactions yourself.</li></ul>Above string indicates that Google Emoji's won't come to everyone at once and may be tested in batches publicly first before getting rolled out to everyone. </div><div><br></div><div>There are few limitations for emoji reactions as well which Google listed in the app - </div><div><ul><li>You received this via BCC, so you can't react with an emoji.</li><li>You can't react with an emoji to this encrypted message.</li><li>You can't react with an emoji to a large group.</li><li>You can't react with an emoji more than (number) times.</li><li>You cannot add more than 20 emoji reactions to a message</li><li>This message has hit the limit of 50 unique reactions</li></ul>The last limits are kind of vague and doesn't make it clear what they are referring to until we see it in action. You will be able to react to emails directly from the email screen or from the overflow menu (three dots) using the emoji reactions (wording may change) option. <p>Before diving into the information, I want to share that this is <a href="https://x.com/assembledebug" target="_blank">@AsssembleDebug</a> from <a href="https://t.me/GappsLeaks">Gapps Flags & Leaks</a> channel on telegram. I share information about unreleased/upcoming features in Google Apps or whatever I could find about Android. This is my old blog which I decided to open again and will post new things here. Please ignore the old posts on blog. I will cleanup them in some days. So let's come to the topic.</p>

<p>Google and Samsung (Snapdragon too!!) has been working on the XR headset since a while and not much is released or shared about the product itself. The only thing confirmed is - Google is working on the "Micro XR" (as reported by different news outlets) platform based on Android which will power the XR headset of Samsung, if they ever launch it. </p>

<p>There is not much information available about the Micro XR platform itself as well because Google is keeping it a secret. But they can't keep it a secret if they keep adding the code about XR in their apps which they release publicly, which is what I discovered in Google Play Store and Google Play Services. The code itself doesn't reveal anything about the Samsung's XR headset but provides a few bits of information about XR platform. So let's get started.</p>

<h3><b>1. XR is a new form factor and Samsung's XR headset isn't alone
</b></h3>
<p>There are different type of products which are powered by Android. Google referes to them as form factors. Phone, Tablets, Foldables, Wear, Android TV, Auto and Chromebooks are different kind of form factors. Code in Google Play Store reveals that Google added the new "<b>ANDROID_XR</b>" as a form factor. So you may see products from different companies, not just Samsung's XR headset, powered by XR platform. Here is a screenshot of the code that I found. </p>

<h3><b>2. Play Store</b></h3>
<p>Since XR Platform will be running on Android you can expect Google Play Store to be pre-installed on it. In the code I found, there is a flag <b>AndroidXr__is_android_xr</b> in Google Play Store which is currently set to false. This flag can be used by the Play Store to check for device properties and based on it, it can set the flag to true or false if the device properties indicates that it is an Android XR powered device.</p>

I enabled this flag as well, but it doesn't seem to do anything for now because of the only the  partial code is added by Google & ofcourse there is nothing available for this form factor. </div>

<h3><b>3. Setup Wizard</b></h3>
<p>Just like Phones, Wear, TV and all other form factors, Google is making a specific Setup Wizard for the XR devices which will be used for the initial setup. Google lists the package name as "<b>com.google.android.xr.setupwizard</b>" followed by some kind of hash code or checksum for the setup wizard's package name. There were other setup wizard packages in the list which are used for Phones, Wear, TV etc. Check the screenshot below, I removed other setup wizard's package name and showing the specific one for XR devices.</p>

<h3><b>4. Google Play Services, Flip that flag bro.</b></h3>
<p>After digging through the Play Store code, my excitement was on another level and I immediately checked Google Play Service's code and wasn't disappointed. Since Google Play Service is an important part of Android Devices (except the one's which doesn't ship with GMS), it was evident that Play Services will be used to enable and disable features of XR devices and do some other kinds of things specific to XR devices, which we will know in upcoming months.</p>

<p>There is a flag named "<b>Common__android_xr_feature_flag_enabled</b>" in Play Services which is specifically for XR devices. There was another same flag below it, but it had "tv" written instead of "xr". So I immediately understood that it's for the XR devices, not just some random flag because there are literally 100s of flags in GMS code.</p>

<p>I really don't know what this flag do but I am pretty sure enabling on it Phone will do nothing. It is supposed to be enabled on the XR device itself to enable features related to the device.</p>

<h3><b>5. System Feature Defined</b></h3>
<p>This is last thing and is kinda important. Basically every Android powered device or product can make itself distinguishable from other products by defining a "uses-feature" tag in a XML file inside the system or product partition. This feature tag/flag thing can be queried by the apps to check if the device supports a specific feature (hasSystemFeature).</p>

<p>So in case of XR devices, all devices will have <b>android.software.xr.immersive</b> as a feature defined in system. Every product based on Micro XR platform will declare this so the apps can determine if it is actually running on a XR device and not on some other Android phone or tablet. Google Play Services is using the <b>hasSystemFeature</b> (some api or code, idk) to query the <b>android.software.xr.immersive</b> feature and if the  Play services find the feature in XR device, it can enable the features specific to XR device which we currently do not know. </p>
