One of the such capabilities includes image generation. Google's AI tool Gemini can generate images based on prompts provided by the user. We can do this on the Web version of Gemini, in the Google App and Google Messages app on Android. Google has found another way to make use of this feature.<div><br></div><div>Back in Nov 2023, Google announced Notes, a <a href="https://blog.google/products/search/notes-google-search-labs-experiment/" target="_blank">new experiment in search labs</a>. This experiment allowed users in India and USA to leave <b>Notes </b>(or we can say comments) on web page result when they searched through the Google app on Android/iOS. Initially Google allowed users to use predefined (stock images) images as backgrounds and text/stickers over these backgrounds. Google also said that they will bring the AI image generation feature for the US users. </div><div><br></div><div>Now it looks like Google has quietly rolled out the image generation support in notes. Google said that this will be US only in the beginning, but I can also access it in India. Google allows the users to add notes directly from the Google Discover page on both iOS and Android. So when you click on "Add Notes" button for a web page, you get the note edit screen. Here you can press the Add button and select "Create AI Image". A new page will open with a prompt box. Here you have to type the prompt which is limited to 1000 words and then tap on Create button. As usual, it will generate four images based on your prompt. Tapping any of the image will insert that particular image as the background for in your note. You can see in the screenshot where I used and prompt and used that image as background.</p><p>The negative side is that once you make your choice of selecting an image, you cannot go back to choose the other ones. You will have to write the prompt again which may not generate the same images as before. The quality of the images is not that good, and I can see images being pixelated because usually the images are generated in a 1:1 ratio but the app zooms in on the images to fill the height of the note screen. The code is about the Google assistant setup wizard which user will see whenever they will setup their Pixel 9 for the first time. It was kind of a new UI as compared to what we are used to in other apps. But seems like Google has realised or recieved enough feedback to backtrack on this change. <br></p><p>In the latest version of Google Messages beta <i>messages.android_20240404_01_RCO0.phone.open_beta_dynamic</i>, Google has brought back the single line input box, I mean the input box is now similar to other apps. Here are some screenshots of the new input box. How to enable the material bottom navigation search bar and Gemini toggle in Google Discover on Android [ROOT]

There is also an iOS style switch present in the Google app which allows you to switch to Gemini from the discover page. I hope you are not totally noob because I won't be adding a single screenshot to guide you, just read and follow. It's the best I can do for now :p </div><div><br></div><h3>Required things -</h3><div><ul><li>Rooted devices running Android 12+</li><li>Google App latest beta version from Play Store or <a href="https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-search/" title="">Apkmirror</a></li><li>GMS Flags app installed with root permission granted. <a href="https://github.com/polodarb/GMS-Flags/releases/tag/1.1.0" title="">(GitHub)</a></li><li>Gemini should be available for you already in your Google app.</li></ul><h3>Steps - </h3></div><div><ol><li>Open the GMS flags app and tap the <b>Search</b> tab. Here look for <b>Google </b>app in the list and tap it.</li><li>Here you will see the list of packages. The following package will appear among the top 3. <br><code>com.google.android.libraries.search.googleapp.user#com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox </code></li> <li>Tap on the above package name a new screen will open with all the flags. Now click on the 3 dots menu on the top right of this page and click on "<b>Add a multiple flags</b>"</li> <li>You will have a new page again and you have to enter these flags in the text field, just copy and paste as it is. Each flag should be in a different line.<br><code>45427903<br>45531391<br> 45623152</code><br>Then just tap on the <b>Save</b> button in bottom right.</li> <li>Now clear data of <b>Google</b> app from the settings and open Google app again. You might have to force stop once or twice to see the changes.</li></ol></div> <p>Also please note that two people have already tested the flags and it worked for them. Other things to mention is that these flags won't enable the bottom search bar in the Discover page, but you will have the bottom search bar when you search for something. Google's Family Password Sharing To Start Appearing Soon in Google Password Manager

Just after that, in March I <a href="https://thespandroid.blogspot.com/2024/03/Password-Sharing-Android-GMS.html" title="">spotted</a> the initial share button and a pop-up introducing the password sharing feature. More work has been done since and seems like it will be coming to everyone in just a few weeks.</p><p>In the latest version of Google Play Services beta 24.13.14, the changes hint toward a more complete feature, here is a video of how it will work. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gUtLpN14EuI" width="320" youtube-src-id="gUtLpN14EuI"></iframe></div><p>As you can see in the video, the tapping a share button of a saved credential will open a share sheet with the family memeber names and their profile pictures. You can select one or multiple members with whom you want to share password and then tap the share button. </p><p>Tapping the share button doesn't seem to do anything in the video, so it's possible that there is some work left to do. One more important to note here is (as you can see in the video) - <i>When you share a copy of your username and password, your family member can fill them using Google Password Manager. </i>This means the username/email/password will be shared directly in their own Google Password Manager and can be auto-filled through the Android's auto-fill feature.</p><p>If case if you have noticed one more thing - the redesigned password manager UI. It has been in developement since <a href="https://t.me/google_nws/3729?single" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">some months</a> and now appears to be fully ready. Back in January, WhatsApp added the ability to share voice notes and create polls in channels. </p><p>The voice note sharing functionality might be a limited experience for some people who want to share music with followers. Telegram allows almost all kinds of content to be posted in the channels. In case of WhatsApp, at least they may allow users to share music files such as MP3 files in channels. </p><p>I was able to activate the audio file sharing functionality in channels. This works in the same way as sending audio files in personal chats and groups. The second screenshot shows the "audio" option which I enabled using some methods(secret :p & it's not a WhatsApp mod). The third screenshot shows the audio file which I sent in a WhatsApp channel using the "audio" attachment option. I want to mention one thing here is that - audio files shared in channel have the headphone 🎧 icon whereas the voice notes have the microphone 🎤 icon.</p><p>I am not sure when WhatsApp will roll-out this feature for channels. Tapping the button opens the reaction selection popup where you can choose any reaction. The cool thing is about this is that the boring white emoji button will be replaced with the whatever reaction you select. As you can see I reacted with a heart emoji and the smiley button got replaced with heart emoji. Also the selected reaction will be visible just above the reply bar in case if other people react with other reactions. </p><p>One thing to note here is that reacting to Images is nothing new. For single images you can already long press on the image in chat and react. But for images which are sent as group/grid, you have to tap the grid and it open all images in scrollable way. You can react by long pressing an image here. </p><p>The new reaction button will definitely help you react instantly to images which are sent in a group/grid while you open them individually. This way you don't have to long press again and again to react to each image. I am not sure when WhatsApp will roll out this feature.</p> <p>Well, that's all about it. The latest addition in WhatsApp is similar to the like button we have all seen in Instagram and Twitter (X). WhatsApp already allows users to reply with any emoji or sticker as they want by tapping on the reply bar and then selecting the emoji icon and choose whichever they want. The new like button will likely send an already predefined emoji like a thumbs up or the heart emoji or it could be a react like we do it on messages. I am not sure how it will actually work because in my testing WhatsApp just crashes whenever I tap on the like button. </p><p>The reason for crash is likely that the feature is still work in progress and won't be rolled out anytime soon. So I will give an update on this in upcoming versions.  In my opinion, this is a nice addition as it will allow users to react quickly on status updates and save a few second by not tapping and selecting emojis from the reply bar. </p> <p>Well, that's all about it. Tiktok is copying the Collaboration feature of Instagram

Instagram and YouTube copied the popular short video content format from Tiktok and launched as Reels and Shorts. Tiktok might be also copying the whole image sharing concept of Instagram and turn it into a separate app called Tiktok Photos which I have reported first a few weeks ago. The trend of copying features is continuing. </p><p>The latest news is that - Tiktok is working on bringing the "Collaboration" feature which will allow creators to invite upto 5 other creators to make a collaboration post. We already know that Tiktok have "Duets" but this is only limited to 2 people only. This collaboration feature was made available in Instagram previous year. According to Instagram - <i>You can use Instagram Collabs to co-author posts with other accounts. The creator of the original post can invite another account as a collaborator. If the account accepts the invite, their username will be added to the post and the post will be shared with their followers</i>.</p><div>I did an APK teardown of the latest version <b><i>34.1.15</i></b> and it reveales some information about the upcoming feature in Tiktok. Here are some strings -<br></div><blockquote>• You’re invited to collaborate<br>• You’ll be listed as a collaborator on this post. It’ll appear in your profile, but you can’t edit the post, or withdraw any income it may receive.<br>• You’ll have to be invited to collaborate again if you change your mind.<br>• Decline invite?<br>• Accept invite?<br>• You’re now a collaborator on this post<br>• You’ve declined this invite to collaborate<br>• You’re no longer a collaborator on this post<br>• Pending invites<br>• Can’t invite or remove collaborators<br>• Collaborated with<br>• Who’s in this post?<br>• Invite collaborators<br>• You can only invite 5 collaborators<br>• You’ll no longer be listed as collaborator on this post, and it’ll be removed from your profile.<br>• Leave collaboration?<br>• Creators who accept your invite will be listed as collaborators on your post. Users will be able to invite other users as collaborators and they have to accept the invite in order to be added as a collaborator in the Tiktok posts. Declining an invitation and leaving an already accepted collaboration will be available as well. A user will be able to invite upto 5 other users/creators and is limited to inviting only 4 times only in a month. It also says "<i>Creators who accept your invite will be listed as collaborators on your post. It will appear in their profile, but only you can edit the post, and withdraw any income it may receive</i>". The account of the user who is inviting other users should be public and the post to which collaborators are being invited should be available to "Everyone".</div><div><br></div><p>The feature will be a welcome addition for the creators/influencers community. WhatsApp might be testing a new In-call UI Bottom Bar

WhatsApp has also been rolling out a better dark mode instead of greenish dark mode. <br></p><p>Among all these one thing that's left for some change is the in-call UI. I am specifically talking about the bottom sheet UI here which hosts the video, speaker, mute and cancel buttons. While messing around with WhatsApp to find if there is anything else WhatsApp might be working on, I stumbled upon this newer change. All the buttons are now hosted in a single circular rectangle and if you see closely, the icons have been also replaced with a filled version of icons.
