Google Contact has been recieving various new feature and UI changes from some weeks. Recently they rolled out a new contact ringtone page and spotted working on a "Organize" tab which overhauls the old "Fix and manage" tab.
Google has been rolling out a new Google Contacts version 4.28. I was able to enable the new contact search bar. In the previous version I also spotted a UI change which added a "+" sign in the the search bar of Google Contacts. Here is a comparison of the previous and new UI tweak -
This new change separates the search bar, the plus sign and the profile switcher circle. We have all seen this search UI in the Google Play Store. The only change is here is that the microphone icon is replaced with a 3 dots icon which gives you the option to select/select all contacts and the notification icon is replaced with a plus sign which lets you add new contacts. Here is how it looks in Play Store -
As I have said earlier the this UI change is hidden behind a flag and is not available for users. It may roll out to users in coming weeks. If you have a rooted Android device, the flag to enable this new UI has been shared on my Telegram channel - @GappsLeaks
