Google will discontinue Google Assistant in March 2026 for users, but it will remain available for now

Back in March, <a href="https://blog.google/products/gemini/google-assistant-gemini-mobile/">Google announced that later this year the</a> classic Google Assistant would no longer be accessible on most mobile devices.</p><p>For now, Android users still have the option to use Google Assistant if they prefer not to switch to Gemini. While checking some information, I came across a<a href="https://support.google.com/androidauto/answer/6348083?hl=en&ref_topic=6348018&sjid=2270659258501960183-NA"> banner on the official Google Support forum</a> of Android Auto that confirms the month and year.</p><p>According to the support page, Gemini is replacing Google Assistant on most mobile devices. Google already <a href="https://www.androidauthority.com/removing-google-assistant-features-2024-3401964/" target="_blank">begun removing certain features</a> from Google Assistant back in 2024, and Gemini now supports most of the capabilities previously offered by Google Assistant.</p>
