Google has been adding a lot of features lately and doing various UI changes on the Circle to Search interface. Users can currently trigger Circle to Search by long pressing the gesture nav handle or if you use the three button nav, you can long press the home button. <div><br /></div><div>Now it looks like Google is adding more ways to open Circle to Search. With the latest update of Google beta app (version 16.2.39.sa.arm64 beta) I found some code that hints that Google is adding more ways to access your favorite feature (in case you hate it, just deal with it). The code above hints about more entry points for Circle to Search. </div><div><br /></div><div>We already know about NAV_HANDLE, HOME and FILES_APP (yes, you can trigger Circle to Search in Files by Google app when you open an image in it). The rest of the entry points seems new. I am not sure about what KIKI_APP and META is. Let's talk about the rest though.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>OMNIENT_ENTRYPOINT_LONG_PRESS_OVERVIEW - </b>Overview screen is basically the recents screen which shows all your apps you have opened. So it's possible Google could adding a button in the overview screen which can trigger Circle to Search for the app which is in focus in the recents screen.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>OMNIENT_ENTRYPOINT_LONG_PRESS_POWER -</b> Google can add a new option to trigger CTS by long pressing the power button. I think this will be part of a system update (Android 16 probably). On pixels, currently you can only set power button to trigger assistant on long press or open power menu.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>OMNIENT_ENTRYPOINT_EDGE_PANEL - </b>The Edge panel on a Samsung Galaxy device is a shortcut tab that provides quick access to your favorite apps. So you will be able soon add a shortcut here to trigger Circle to Search.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>OMNIENT_ENTRYPOINT_ACCESSIBILITY_SYSTEM_ACTION -</b> I am not sure if this new of Google already does this. This is for users who use Android accessibility services. It's possible that Google might add a shortcut somewhere in the accessibility menu to trigger Circle to Search.</div><div><br /></div><div>All these changes are a welcome addition and provide more flexibility to customize how they access Circle to Search on their device. According to PapersWithCode -"Speech Enhancement is a signal processing task that involves improving the quality of speech signals captured under noisy or degraded conditions. The goal of speech enhancement is to make speech signals clearer, more intelligible, and more pleasant to listen to, which can be used for various applications such as voice recognition, teleconferencing, and hearing aids." </div><div><br /></div><div>Speech enhancement definitely makes sense as Google app has to do a lot of voice input when we use Google assistant or Gemini to ask for things. I can't guarantee the same thing for everyone though. So TikTok found a way to use the voice cloning AI in its app. TikTok is working on this feature, which does not seem to really have a proper name, it just references it as "Create your voice with AI" and "TikTok Voice Library". In the latest version of TikTok I came across some strings which indicates that TikTok is working on it. I was also able to access the initial UI which introduces the feature and was able to see the terms and condition of "TikTok Voice Library" which user have to accept in order to use the feature. When it comes to privacy, your AI voice will stay private and you can delete it anytime. Now unfortunately I did not see any text. This is probably because the feature is not fully ready or the backend from which it fetches the text is not live yet. Manually pressing the record button and saying random things also shows an error. So, it's also not possible to provide any sample voice generated with it and see how it compares to other voice cloning competitors. If it starts working someday, it will process your recorded voice and generate AI version of your voice. I am personally aware of this page when Google was working on it, it was empty but had both tabs. A user in RCS international group shared a video of the new setting UI (thanks again Anthony) on his samsung phone. I immediately remembered where to look for the setting UI and I was able to enable it on my phone. </p><p>If we come to the "when Google will roll this out?" part, I am not sure. Everyone who uses these apps must have come across the UPI payments through Rupay Credit Card option. These apps allow users to link their rupay credit card which users can use for making UPI payments to businesses through QR codes. This feature is not available for other type of credit cards. </p><p>So in the latest version of WhatsApp beta 2.24.9.14, I have come across a new icon which was added in the mentioned version update. WhatsApp has been trying to tap into the payment market through its large Indian userbase but doesn't seem to reach the popularity of apps like PhonePe, Paytm and Gpay. One of the such capabilities includes image generation. Google's AI tool Gemini can generate images based on prompts provided by the user. We can do this on the Web version of Gemini, in the Google App and Google Messages app on Android. Google has found another way to make use of this feature.<div><br></div><div>Back in Nov 2023, Google announced Notes, a <a href="https://blog.google/products/search/notes-google-search-labs-experiment/" target="_blank">new experiment in search labs</a>. This experiment allowed users in India and USA to leave <b>Notes </b>(or we can say comments) on web page result when they searched through the Google app on Android/iOS. Initially Google allowed users to use predefined (stock images) images as backgrounds and text/stickers over these backgrounds. Google also said that they will bring the AI image generation feature for the US users. </div><div><br></div><div>Now it looks like Google has quietly rolled out the image generation support in notes. Google said that this will be US only in the beginning, but I can also access it in India. Google allows the users to add notes directly from the Google Discover page on both iOS and Android. So when you click on "Add Notes" button for a web page, you get the note edit screen. Here you can press the Add button and select "Create AI Image". A new page will open with a prompt box. Here you have to type the prompt which is limited to 1000 words and then tap on Create button. As usual, it will generate four images based on your prompt. Tapping any of the image will insert that particular image as the background for in your note. You can see in the screenshot where I used and prompt and used that image as background.</p><p>The negative side is that once you make your choice of selecting an image, you cannot go back to choose the other ones. You will have to write the prompt again which may not generate the same images as before. The quality of the images is not that good, and I can see images being pixelated because usually the images are generated in a 1:1 ratio but the app zooms in on the images to fill the height of the note screen.
