Release Date

The release of the Android 7.1.1 for these smartphones is scheduled to be on Dec 6.
This update will come with security patch of Dec 5. Its size is nearly going to be around 600-700 MB.

Once released ,the software update will put the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P ,Pixel C and Nexus 9 on par with that of the software housed inside the google pixel pairing.

Android 7.1 Feaures

Apart from the standard updates and features included in Android 7.0 Nougat, Android 7.1.1 will also enable developers to add app shortcuts, which is similar to what shows up when an app is pressed via 3D Touch on new iPhones.

Other features such as data saving measures to free up space, Google Assistant and image keyboard support for snazzy GIFs with rich content are also present on the latest version of Android Nougat.

Vodafone Australia notes that the update will be pushed out 5 p.m. AEST on Dec. 6, but the security patch will be released a day before, which matches Google's pattern of releasing security patches on a Monday.

However, it may take up to a couple of weeks before supported devices can receive the new software update

Android 7.1 Nougat Distribution

On the first three days of release, only 10,000 phones, selected at random, will be eligible for the software update. From day 4 to day 13, 10 percent from the remaining pool will be selected each day, and users must check for the update manually. Finally, on the fourteenth day, all devices will be eligible for the software update.

Android 7.1.1 is also slated to hit the Pixel and Pixel XL, which contains a number of bug fixes alongside double-tap and raise-to-wake features.

For owners of previous Nexus flagships impatiently waiting for the official rollout of Android Nougat 7.1, make sure to manually check for updates once Dec. 6 rolls around.

How To Manage Passwords On Android with aWallet

Do you use the same password on different websites and android apps for login ?

According to Ofcom’s "adults' Media Use & Attitude Report 2013, a poll of 1805 adults aged 16 and over discovered that 55% of them used the same password for most – if not all! – websites.

If that weren’t scary enough, just over a quarter (26%) said that tend to use easy-to-remember passwords such as birthdays or people’s names, opening the door for their online accounts to be hacked into by criminals.

It’s worrying that so many people are making life so easy for cybercriminals and identity thieves, when it’s actually remarkably simple to make strong password security a part of your everyday life.

Any Solution ?

If you have an android device then there are a lot of apps that are available on the google play for storing and backing up password on clouds.

I tried various password manager apps but at last I am using aWallet Password Manager which is available for free on google play and other version of this app is also available which premium app. aWallet Premium gives you the facility to backup your password to cloud i.e google drive and some others.

The reason why i use this app because it has a category feature which allow users to create various categories and you can customize each category.

You can add fields in a category , For E.g I have a category **Debit cards" . In this category i can add new fields to add more information about debit card such as any note, mobile number , and other various info.

Most of the password manager apps do not have this feature. They just provide you approximately two-three fields , One for username/email Second One for password and third one for website address. You can not add additional field to store more info about a website.

Thats the reason why i recommend it.

Features

• Securely stores your passwords, credit card information, e-banking credentials, web accounts and other custom data.
• There is a built in Editor for changing or creating new data Categories with custom icons.
• Search within fields.
• Contains no advertisements.
• Supports backup and restore of the encrypted data file to the Android USB device.
• Export of unencrypted data in CSV format to the USB device.
• There is an Auto lock feature that can be preconfigured for a specific period of time.
